An Exotic Shorthair cat’s personality is pretty well the same as the Persian, they have a gentle and calm personality, but are generally more energetic than their longhaired relatives. They are curious and playful, friendly to other cats and dogs, but they don’t like being left alone, they need and thrive on the companionship of their main guardian.
They make terrific loving lap cats and show more affection and devotion than most other breeds. Their calm, placid personality makes them ideal cats for city apartment dwellers. Exotics are also playful and enjoy a good game of catching the catnip mouse.
